“I mean, at some point, you gotta stop looking up at the sky, or one of these days you’ll look back down and see that you floated away, too.” – John Green
I was reading a book recently and stumbled upon this quote. I read it three times before I decided how I felt about it. I decided that I feel the same way about life as the character in John Green’s book that said this feels. I think it means that you can day dream and fantasize about the future sometimes, but you need to come back and join reality eventually. You can’t let life get the best of you. Keep your feet on the ground and you’ll go far.
Welp, this just might be the year from hell… or so I’ve been told. The classes are the most difficult and time consuming. I’m hoping I can get through it. First class today! Yay!
I have seen most of my friends since I’ve been back at school. Everyone seems to have had a good summer so far. I had a friend spend the summer in San Francisco and she absolutely loved it! I would be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous.
As for my summer… It was average at best. I lived at home and had an internship! The commute to work was really nice, I had a 3 minute drive at most. And they did pay me a nice amount. My boss was the best! Butttt, it was really boring. I just found myself having a lot of down time and I hate that. I think it was just a miscommunication between me and my boss about how much time different tasks should take. He did say I could go back in the winter or even next summer though! Yay for back up plans!
Until next time…
Hi Everybody! Okay, so this is my first blog… so bear with me!
I decided to write one mainly because it reminds me of a diary, but I don’t actually feel like buying a diary and keeping it up to date and such, so I’ll blog.
Let me update you on my life thus far. I grew up in New Jersey, even though I was born in Connecticut. The only thing interesting about my home town is that the M&M factory is here! Other than that where I grew up is pretty boring.
I’m 20 years old and attending college to become (hopefully) an Engineer, however plans always seem to change. I’d also like to attend either law school or med school one day, but we’ll see if that ever happens.
This summer I had my first internship! My boss was really nice, I wouldn’t mind working with him again at all. He makes me laugh and he treats me like a colleague not as his intern! I learned a lot. However, the job was a little slow moving, I’d rather be fast paced. I found myself bored more often than not. I’m not complaining though, it was a great experience and I made a nice chunk of money this summer. Over the summer I also started going to the gym and eating healthy (well more than I used to). I have been feeling a lot better and have had a lot more energy since I’ve been doing it! If I find any good recipes I’ll be sure to post!
Anyway, that’s it for now. Until next time!
